DIY Gold Studded Flats

I had these silver studded flats, but I really don’t wear silver anymore as I’ve realized gold is my new color.  I found some gold acrylic paint lying around and instantly went into DIY mode.

You can really use any color you want.

Carefully paint the studs

Wait for the paint to dry and wear out!

Blogger Packing

I just got back from the Big Apple, which as usual, was a-MAH-zing.  I am generally a horrible packer.  I always bring too much, so this time around I planned out almost every outfit like a good fashion/beauty blogger should.  And I must say, it worked out perfectly.  Here’s are the complete outfits I packed.  Not shown are shorts + t-shirts for the train rides and lounging around.

Packing tip: roll up your clothes! It saves a ton of space.  And I always place my shoes as if they’re in a shoe box.

CC Beauty Live Presents: Self Tanner Basics

Everyone is expected to be tan in the summer, yeah?  And while you know all about the dangers of tanning, people still do it. That will never change.  I love being outside, and there’s nothing like a tan from natural sunlight.  But like always, you have to use protection (see what I did there?).  I used to go to the tanning bed all the time, so trust me- I see the appeal.  And I have a strong aversion to self tanners due to their tendency to make me a coconut-scented Oompa Loompa.

Well FakeBake sent me their Flawless Tanning Lotion ($24.95) which did not turn me orange, but it did leave me smelling as if Hawaiian Tropic invented an air freshener even after I showered.  The tan is pretty dark with the first application, and it stays on for a decent amount of time.  Self tanners can be tricky to apply without streaking or splotches, but I’ve got some basics for you.  The most important part of getting a good tan with a self tanner is patience.
