Fall Shows I’m Supes Excited For

I love TV.  I love it so much that I have too many shows to watch, which means I have to pick which shows to watch live, which ones to DVR, and which ones I can catch online the next day.  It’s tough week to week, especially in the midst of school and work and having a social life with real people instead of your favorite characters.  I hold my breath each summer, hoping my favorite shows don’t get the axe.  And thank heavens Chuck gets its last season!  I am beyond excited.

So this year a lot of shows were cancelled.  Unfortunately, the ever-prominent downfall of One Tree Hill will curse us for another round.  Despite all the cancellations, there are a ton of new shows lined up for the fall.  While some aren’t doing it for me (here’s looking at you Pan Am), I don’t know what I’m going to do with all the good ones coming out.  I don’t even have a DVR next year!

Here are my top picks:

1. 2 Broke Girls written by Whitney Cummings and starring Kat Dennings. Yes please!  Not only is Whitney Cummings absolutely hilarious, seriously, catch her on the Round Table on Chelsea Lately, but Kat Dennings is ah-mazing.  Who doesn’t love a show about two cute, broke girls struggling in NYC?

2. Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea based off the life of my favorite funny lady, Chelsea Handler.  Much like everyone else, I’ve been waiting for a show with Laura Prepon to come back since That 70s Show.  She was in October Road in 2007, which wasn’t very successful.  She needs to stick to funny.  That’s why she works in How I Met Your Mother types of shows.  And while Chelsea herself sadly seems awkward playing her brunette sister, I think it has potential.

3. New Girl starring Zooey Deschanel and that hot guy who played gay Max’s boyfriend on Happy Endings, which you should be watching.  Although Zooey sometimes annoys me, especially when singing about the touch and feel of cotton, I think she’s got decent comedy skills.  Her character seems a little desperate for male attention by moving in with guys after a break up, but here’s the twist: her roommate is a hot model so she feels insecure!  The preview had me giggling so I’ll try it out.

4. Apartment 23 with James Van Der Beek as himself!  And Krysten Ritter (Gilmore Girls-she dated Marty) who I absolutely love.  Krysten plays Chloe who is bffs with James and cons innocent girls to be her roommate, drives them out, and takes their rent money.  But this one, June, is different and plays back.  It’s the perfect combination of bitchy and funny, which makes it a top contender.  Plus, James Van Der Beek, come on!

What are you looking forward to in the fall??
