I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to try out some gorgeous timepieces from Sasha Rhett. They’ve been featured in Allure, Self, In Touch, Oprah Magazine and more! Founder Alexandra Duam wanted to create unique watches that could be customized with ease, and she has done just that. I love a good watch as they make the perfect staple in any arm party, and Sasha Rhett watches can be changed to your liking with their interchangeable straps. Your first watch includes a face and strap of your choosing, and then you can purchase additional straps to change out according to your style at the moment. They’ve got straps in literally any color you could want, so you’ve got tons of options. Full watches range from $199-$299, and additional straps range from $65-75 which is a great deal considering you can create so many different styles. CC Beauty Live Presents: Self Tanner Basics

Everyone is expected to be tan in the summer, yeah? And while you know all about the dangers of tanning, people still do it. That will never change. I love being outside, and there’s nothing like a tan from natural sunlight. But like always, you have to use protection (see what I did there?). I used to go to the tanning bed all the time, so trust me- I see the appeal. And I have a strong aversion to self tanners due to their tendency to make me a coconut-scented Oompa Loompa.

Well FakeBake sent me their Flawless Tanning Lotion ($24.95) which did not turn me orange, but it did leave me smelling as if Hawaiian Tropic invented an air freshener even after I showered. The tan is pretty dark with the first application, and it stays on for a decent amount of time. Self tanners can be tricky to apply without streaking or splotches, but I’ve got some basics for you. The most important part of getting a good tan with a self tanner is patience.

Let’s Talk About: Freckles

Freckles, by definition, are ”clusters of concentrated melanin which are most often visible on people with a fair complexion” (Wikipedia). Freckles are a genetic trait, but can come out due to sun exposure. I’m Irish and Italian so I am definitely a contradiction, like those Starburst commercials. Tan with freckles.

I’ve noticed that my freckles are becoming more and more pronounced as I get older. I don’t mind, but I’m trying to figure out how. I’m not getting any more sun exposure than I usually do or have in the past, so why have my freckles come out of hiding? I wear sunscreen everyday, and reapply. I’m more concerned that I’m getting more sun damage than I should be.

If you don’t wear sunscreen on a regular basis, please do! Especially on your face. Get a moisturizer with SPF built in so you don’t need an extra step. And check your moles! For the ABCDEs of moles check out this CC Beauty Live video.
