DIY Glitter Boots

I’ve seen this trend floating around, and I finally jumped on board now that I have some spare time on my hands.

So while I don’t have a spare $600 to drop on some fabulous boots like these, I found a tutorial from one of my favorite bloggers over @PrettyShinySparkly and did my own version. You can do this with any kind of shoe, but I picked up some desert boots from Target and glittered away.

You need: Boots of your choice, glitter (I used a chunky gold and a fine gold), paint brushes, fabric glue (I used Aleene’s Permanent), and Modge Podge

Pour some glitter in your glue and start painting. I could have taped off my boots, but I forgot to buy tape. So I was just extra careful.

This is after one coat. It takes a while to dry, so I dumped some more glitter on top and let it sit overnight.

The next day, I mixed the finer glitter with Modge Podge.

And did a good coat on each boot. Let dry for 24 hours! It’s really tempting to wear them before sealing with Modge Podge, but you need to do this or you’ll look like you curb-stomped Tinkerbell. Seriously.

This morning when I woke up, they were all nice and dry and ready to wear! I’m obsessed. I want to wear them every day.

I was considering doing something like this except, I’d like to cover the whole boot. Over time did it start to crack? Thats what i’m worried about!
